Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Executive with strong expertise in
electronic component procurement and product costing. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for end-to-end sourcing of electronic and automotive components, vendor
negotiations, zero-base costing, should-cost analysis, and supporting cost optimization
initiatives to ensure uninterrupted production and improved profitability.
The role requires hands-on experience in purchasing electronic components (active, passive,
electromechanical, connectors, etc.) as well as developing bottom-up cost.
Job Responsibilities:
➢ Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for electronic and automotive components.
➢ Review BOM (Bill of Materials) and raise purchase orders based on production
demand.
➢ Develop and implement zero-base costing models for Plastic and PCBA categories.
➢ Analyse material, labour, overhead, and manufacturing processes to prepare accurate
bottom-up cost estimates.
➢ Conduct should-cost analysis, benchmarking, and variance reporting to support
supplier negotiations.
➢ Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers and
distributors.
➢ Monitor component lead times, availability, and market trends to prevent shortages
and cost escalations.
➢ Ensure on-time delivery of materials and follow up with vendors for pending orders.
➢ Coordinate with stores, quality, production, engineering, and design teams for
material validation and issue resolution.
➢ Maintain accurate procurement and costing records; update ERP systems regularly.
➢ Develop strong relationships with global and local distributors (e.g., Mouser, Digi
Key, Arrow, Avnet).
➢ Track and optimize inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.

➢ Handle component obsolescence, alternate sourcing, and part change notifications in
coordination with engineering.
➢ Prepare detailed cost reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership to
optimize product costing and pricing strategies.
➢ Stay updated on industry trends, raw material prices, and automotive manufacturing
technologies.
➢ Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement and
costing processes.
Required Qualifications:
➢ Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
➢ 3–5 years of experience in procurement and product costing, preferably in automotive
or electronics manufacturing industry.
➢ Hands-on expertise in zero-base costing and product cost evaluation.
➢ Strong understanding of electronic components (active, passive, mechanical) and
automotive categories (Plastic, PCBA).
➢ Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel modelling.
➢ Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
➢ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
➢ Familiarity with import/export processes and customs clearance is an added
advantage.
➢ Proven track record of delivering cost reductions through structured costing
methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
➢ Knowledge of RoHS, REACH, and regulatory compliance requirements.
➢ Experience in global sourcing and working with multiple vendors.
➢ Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 standards.
➢ Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
➢ Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
